I hit a wall today

I did a pretty good job keeping my momentum up during the month of January.  But today I really struggled. Not "throw in the towel" struggle, but just weary and worn.  I feel like I'm juggling too many things: work, husband, kids, exercise, eating plan, sleep, church, time with God....  Everything is important. I can't let any of it drop.

This has kind of my been my theme song lately.

I’m Tired I’m worn
My heart is heavy
From the work it takes
To keep on breathing
My prayers are wearing thin
Yeah, I’m worn
Even before the day begins
Yeah, I’m worn
I’ve lost my will to fight
I’m worn
This morning I went to the gym even though I didn't feel like it.  I forced myself to a walk a mile (I usually walk 2).  But after the mile I let myself stop. But I went back later and did the 2nd mile.

I can't let this loss of momentum slow me down.  I'll keep moving.  Even though I'm worn.


  1. Hitting a wall happens. Be kind to yourself...and keep going. ;-)

  2. Focusing on yourself is so hard. This was one of the hardest things for me to do. But those around you will be fully supportive and help you focus. Just keep trying, and breathing. Chin up! You can do this!

  3. It does get weary-making after a while. For me, tossing something new into the mix can help liven things up a little so that I find that eager feeling again. Splitting up your workout was a good idea. We don't have to do it all at once (there are even some advantages to splitting a workout), nor do we have to do it perfectly. We just have to do it. :) Way to go!

  4. It is normal to "hit-the-wall" sometimes and that makes it all the more critical that you have a plan. Try something new, do a different workout routine, and above all - take some time for yourself to remind yourself why you are doing this.

    Nothing in life is easy, but I promise you that the effort is worth the reward.

  6. I hear you - it's hard to keep everything up in the air and not let anything drop. I find when I get like that, I chat with my hubby and see what he might be able to help with. I'm very lucky that he's a calm and rational perspective that I can always count on to bring me back to what is truly important. When I get down, I just remember that taking care of me, means that I can take care of others for a much longer time. So the time invested now, will pay off in the future.
